Everyone thinks they can’t compete against Google and Facebook and the other companies throwing money at candidates. But that’s not true.

You need to differentiate your business with it’s mission, it’s beliefs and stories. Tell everyone how you’re changing the world, how you’re changing the lives of your customers and staff, how people who work for you are happier and more satisfied with their jobs and life.

Otherwise, the only other way to stand out and attract real talent is to pay your people more.

As Tom Peters once said, only a fool competes on price. Establish real and meaningful value with your employer brand, and illustrate it with stories and photos, and you can attract the best in the world without paying the premium.
